Living a healthy lifestyle can mean many different things to different people. For me, I prioritize my health because the physical and mental benefits are invaluable to me. I’ve found that a person’s depth of self-respect is reflected in the ways in which they treat their body. One of my favourite things to do in the colder months is practise Hot Yoga.
Hot Yoga has always been a deeply intimate experience for me. It’s an outlet, an escape and a way for me to disconnect and detach from the other aspects of my life such as work, school and a busy social life. It has allowed me to look at life from a different perspective, influencing what I believe to be beautiful and prioritizing what’s important in life.
A regular hot yoga class gives me mental clarity that is incomparable to how it’s also toned and defined my body. Mindfulness is something regularly mentioned during a session, and that conceptual thinking has become a daily practice for me. Becoming aware of your mind, body and soul can impact your life drastically.
This practice enables a higher emotional intelligence by honouring the experience of your emotions without influencing your power to choose a response or reaction towards other areas of your life and the relationships that matter to you.
